The issue of adoption is an increasing problem in our society. It is estimated that every 5 pair in Poland can not have children, and most of them consider the possibility of adoption. However, very long time waiting on the judicial decisions on this issue discourages many potential adoptive parents.

Adoption is often the only chance for a normal house and a happy childhood for the little ones deprived of their parents. We know that the greatest dream of every child is a ward of houses to get to the family who love him and will give him a decent life. In the report we want to substitute Parenthood Year encouraged people to adoption, to educate them regarding the establishment of the adoptive families and to inform about the most important barriers hindering adoption process and how to overcome them. We believe that the actions taken by us to make more and more young lovers find their parents. - Said Michal RĹźysko, campaign coordinator of the Saint Nicholas Foundation.

The main reason for waiting too long to decide on adoption of family courts is laziness, not years to resolve the legal situation of children in daycare. From year to year increases the average time regulating the legal status of children from orphanages. As a consequence of increased waiting times for child adoption. According to Justice Department statistics, on average, ¼ of adoption continues into the next year. In some courts the proportion of convictions represents over 50% of all cases, in others only 3%. This large discrepancy in the rate of adoption does not result from the size and the number of pending court cases, and judges families. In 2007, the highest percentage of delayed cases were recorded in the courts in Sieradz, Kalisz, Gdansk, Szczecin and Legnica, and skillfully works courts in Zamość, Lomza, Tarnobrzeg, Konin, Lublin and Radom.

More and more couples in Poland is looking for a solution of their problems associated with infertility in the adoption. This is a very good way, yielding the future happiness of both parents and child, however, many family courts to drag the proceedings on the question of deprivation of their biological parents' parental rights. Very often the judge prefers to restrict the rights of parents to care for offspring than they receive a child. And it was the ruling to deprive the rights of the parent is required to make efforts for adoption. Family courts should recognize that they depend upon the destiny of every ward care facility. They will work more efficiently, the more children a chance to have a normal life - says Wojciech Pytel with Adoptive Families Foundation.

It is estimated that in Poland a few thousand pairs waiting for adoption. Most of them try to newborns or infants, as long as possible to enjoy the comfort of his childhood. For older children, the sick sibling, or the only option is to adoptions. On average, 8% of cases is pronounced foreign adoptions. The largest number of such adoptions carried out in the courts of Katowice (22), Torun (14), Gliwice (13) and Warsaw (12).

An adoption procedure is not complicated, but can drag on over many years. In theory, may adopt any one who wants to love orphan child. Applicants for the adoptive parents must satisfy a number of conditions such as their financial situation, health status and mental or physical reasons for adoption.

The issue of adoption is the next a problem for which the Saint Nicholas Foundation in the report prepared in connection with the statements issued by the Polish Parlament Parenthood Year replacement. Their shares will be implemented by the end of 2009, and in any month, the Foundation will want to give the public one of the important issues relating to single and unwanted children.
